UCAS 補錄適用於因以下原因而無法獲得英國大學錄取通知書的學生：
在6月30日的截止日期後才遞交申請
考試成績未能達到有條件錄取的要求
沒有收到任何錄取通知，或沒有接受任何錄取
補錄程序填補英國大學學位於新學年9月之空缺。 補錄程序於每年的七月至九月進行。
